Meet Lesa and Jeremy Banks – Yard Love Little Miami, who started their business in October 2020!
Why did you choose to start a sign business with Yard Love?
When 2020 came around, I was looking for a way to celebrate “birthday week” in our house since we have four birthdays in August, all in a row! I found a company that offered signs, but they weren’t in our area. However, she agreed to a 5-day sign to cover all of our birthdays. The sign turned out amazing, and as I stood there admiring it, I thought, “I can totally do this!” My husband travels for work, so I’ve been home since 2010. With my kids a little older, this opportunity worked into our lives.
What is a community event you’ve set up for and why was it special for you to be involved in it?
This was my elementary school, and it was closing for good. It was really sad, but at the same time, it was a sign of our district’s growth. The PTO decided to surprise everyone with a sign marking the closure. The staff gathered outside for a final day of school photo with it. All of my children had attended the school at different times, and I knew most of the staff from when I served on the PTO board. It was truly meaningful to be part of something that had been such a big part of my family’s life. I was honored to help send it off.
What is a sign you’ve set that has a special story or you received a fun response from the customer?
I agreed to set a sign for a high school student trying out for soccer, with one catch: I had to wait in my loaded car for a text to find out whether she made the team. I was parked in their subdivision when the mom left to pick her up. As soon as we got the good news that she made it, I installed the sign super quickly! They’ve also been my #1 customer, having rented 11 signs from me since I started my business!
What do you love most about being a Yard Love affiliate?
I love helping people celebrate! Whether it’s a birthday, buying a new house, a soldier returning home, a new baby, or celebrating the anniversary of getting a new kidney. I want to help make these moments special for people. I love repeat customers and seeing their children grow. It’s so fun!
