Meet Lenora Hearst – Yard Love Southwest, who started her business in April 2022!
Why did you choose to start a sign business with Yard Love?
I initially was trying to get my favorite older daughter to join the Yard Love business. She was slow to get started. So, once I found out I would be laid off, I decided to join the business. I was also my mother’s primary caregiver. I felt setting up yard signs would be a fun way to get her out of the house.
What is a community event you’ve set up for and why was it special for you to be involved in it? Share the picture from the event.
My first community event was the Best of the Southwest Juneteenth Festival in Duncanville, TX. I felt this would be the perfect opportunity for Yard Love Southwest to get noticed in my area of service. Unfortunately, the area where the vendors were located didn’t have much traffic.
What is a sign you’ve set that has a special story or got a fun response from the customer? Add a picture of a sign.
I set up a surprise birthday sign for a customer’s husband. I had to park up the street and wait for him to leave for work. The customer had to turn off the cameras while I was setting up. Her husband called one time to find out why the cameras were off; she made up a quick lie. The customer said her husband, and all their family and friends loved the set up.
What do you love most about being a Yard Love affiliate?
Being an affiliate allows me to spread joy to families. People need opportunities to celebrate, and I truly enjoy contributing to those celebrations.
