Have you gotten involved in your community by owning your business?
I live and grew up in the small town of Centralia, MO. Supporting local events is huge, especially for the school! The girls’ basketball team recently placed in the state playoffs, which has never happened before. So, I put up a sign to celebrate their victory! I like to support a lot of school events including back to school. I’m also a big supporter of veterans. I love setting signs on our town square on Veterans Day to thank them for their service.
Why do you love being a Yard Love Affiliate?
It brings so much joy to people. I have spent the majority of my career as a trauma nurse for a level 1 trauma center. I typically meet people on the worst day of their lives, so getting to help people celebrate special occasions makes me happy and balances life out.
What is your favorite greeting?
The sign I set for my friend Crystal who graduated from nursing school. I love surprising friends and family with signs and I love the challenge of a good three-tiered sign!
What’s the most rewarding thing for you?
I love setting up signs for kids! They LOVE them. I have some kids that have had signs every year since I started, and I can’t wait to get their sign request for their birthday. I think that’s awesome!
