Meet Amy Griffiths – Yard Party Signs, who started their business in June 2024!
Why did you choose to start a sign business with Yard Love?
I haven’t worked outside the home at a typical 8-5 job for about 9 years. Before moving here in 2023, I had gone back to work part-time. Once we got settled in here, I knew I needed something to occupy my time, and I stumbled across the business for sale on Facebook Marketplace. I knew it was made for me!
What is a community event you’ve set up for and why was it special for you to be involved?
I have done a few community events, but the Girls’ Night Out was probably my favorite. The owner of Bay Area Events is amazing. I do free signs for the events, and she puts me in all her advertising. Win/win! The event was so much fun, and I ended up with my picture in the Eastern Shore Social magazine. If you know me at all, you know I am an introvert until I get to know you. My family got a big kick out of me being in a “social” magazine.
What is a sign you’ve set that has a special story or got a fun response from the customer?
OA lady hired me to do a sign for her mom’s 80th birthday. She dropped her mom off shortly after I set up the sign and acted as surprised as her mom. Her mom called me 3 separate times wanting to know who ordered it! I told her they wished the remain anonymous and she said, “Okay, I understand, (long pause) but I want to know!” I did not give up my customer, but her mom was so sweet and just thrilled with the sign. She said she sent pictures of her with the sign to all of her friends.
What do you love most about being a Yard Love affiliate?
My favorite part of being a Yard Love affiliate is getting pictures of people with my signs. Close second is the design process. Each sign is put together in my garage beforehand. The least amount of time I ever spent was an hour, and only because I was short on time.
