Why did you choose to start a sign business with Yard Love?
We chose to start a Yard Love business when we hired a competitor for Beth’s birthday. We realized how difficult it was to find someone, and that’s when we realized, “Hmmm, not many people are doing this around here, maybe there’s an opportunity!” Plus, as a home daycare provider who specializes in teachers’ kids, I shut down in the summer, so it gives me a great opportunity to have some fun and take a break from childcare 🙂
What is a community event you’ve set up for, and why was it special for you to be involved?
Our sons started a junk removal business here in town. We raised them to always do for the community, and charity work is one of the most important things in life! You must wake up every day and do something for someone else to bring a smile and brighten their day. The boys participated in a community event where they collected clothing to donate to a local community services organization. They also collected a trailer of scrap metal and donated all of those proceeds to the same organization. That had their truck, trailer, tent, and of course a Yard Love sign set up! What is a sign you’ve set that has a special story or got a fun response from the customer?
One of our funniest and most memorable events was for a man who was turning 100 years old. We had the honor of meeting him, and what a life story he had. Amazing! He was an avid hunter and fisherman who traveled all over the world to hunt and fish. He’s in great shape and still works out and walks on a treadmill every day!
He wanted a chair in the middle of the sign so he could sit with his sign for pictures and memories. His family wanted the sign facing the house so that when he’s inside, he can look at it. He got up in the middle of the night, went to his living room, sat in a chair near the window, and just stared at his sign! What an amazing man, and we were honored to meet him and do this sign!
What do you love most about being a Yard Love affiliate?
What we love best is the smiles and unique experience we bring to every customer. Every recipient and the person who hired us always gives great reviews, big smiles, and consistently says we are what made the day incredible! We know it sounds crazy, but we do all of our setups late at night, and we love the secret missions we are always on! We feel like Santa Claus, and it’s awesome!
